My research interest is on the
physiological and pharmacological effects of Novel Biological Active Natural
Products on Vertebrate tissues and Organ systems in vitro and in vivo. Major
emphasis are laid on the:
• Anti-inflammatory studies (5-lipoxygenase and Cycloxygenase Inhibition).;
Anti-bacterial and anti-
malarial effects.
• Cardiovascular effects (Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibition) and other
anti-hypertensive activities
• Effects on the tracheal, ileal, vascular, uterine smooth muscles and the
papillary muscles of the heart in
connection to Respiratory, Gastro-Intestinal, Reproductive and
Cardiac malfunctioning respectively.
This is by Phytochemical Analysis involving the Extraction, Isolation and
Structural elucidations of the Active Principles followed by
Pharmacological Studies by characterization of the mode of action.
Phrarmacological work is by the elucidation of the biologically active
constituents and the quantitative structure-activity relationship .
Our objective is the Drug Discovery, Analysis and the
Development of Pharmaceutics from Cameronian Medicinal Plants
